EDSA Guadalupe will no longer be the same as the demolition of the "mother of all billboards" proceeds.

The loss of the Guadalupe billboard creates a vacuum among advertisers who wish to launch their product in a grand way. In the past, this billboard was the heart of major advertisers' OOH media campaigns.

Advertisers will now have to contend with smaller sized billboards for their product launch.

There was a time when it was relatively easy to get billboard space on EDSA. Prices were cheap then. Not the case today. Brand and marketing people have realized the value of staking their name on a tarpaulin in EDSA Guadalupe.

These days, prices of billboards have gone up because clients and agencies alike have realized that their half a million pesos can serve them a whole month's exposure on EDSA. Contrast that to 30 seconds on prime time TV. The 30-second spot ain't the marketer's silver bullet anymore.
